Matrix for dependencies of recommended components for gitlab-ce versions

It would be great for source-installers to have some kind of version-matrix being able to understand which dependencies/component versions are tested and recommended for which version (like Ruby and other requirements).

Why?

1. For users prefering installation from source it makes life much easier doing an installation or planning an upgrade
2. Creators of distro-packages have much easier life knowing which software dependencies are working and recommended.
