Improve Slash command for closing issue from Slack
Problem to solve
ChatOps is frequently used by Developers and Operations personas to perform tasks without leaving Slack, the place where they collaborate. This can help the user streamline workflows by remaining in a single interface to perform simple tasks. This is done via slash commands. One of those slash commands enables the user to close an issue from slack. The slash command requires 6 inputs, example:
/gitlab gitlab-org/monitor/tanuki-inc issue close 39
Typing out this command is difficult, takes a long time, and requires the user to look up the different inputs and the specific order. All of this significantly decreases the value of slash commands which is to save the user time. The command should be short and require as few inputs as possible.
Intended users

Further details
This work supports the ChatOps Direction.
Proposal
Improve integration between GitLab and Slack so that the slash command to close an issue can be shortened to 2 inputs.
Proposal: /close issue 39
