Total of issues not updated when importing from Github

Hello everyone,

We 've been using Github to teach web development in my University. Nowadays, we are trying to explain other alternatives like Gitlab, and to teach CI/CD.

The past week we try to import a repo where we are working to Gitlab.com.

Even the issues were imported correctly, the total number of issues were bad until I create a new issue in Gitlab.

The Github URL is https://github.com/Unicen-Tupar/bomberos and I tried to import it to my user space first. Screenshot before creating a new issue:

We did not have previousle any PR in Github, but the problem could be the same with MR.
