mermaid error "TypeError: Cannot read property 'firstChild' of null"

Description

When a chart is embedded in the issue, if you follow any link that opens on the same tab (such as this) and go back to the page using the browser back button (apparently, only on chrome), an error appears on the top.

Also works if you go back first to your previous page and then use the forward browser button to come back to the issue.
