Docs on GitLab security safeguards and best practices
Problem to solve
SSOT/docs-first answer to the frequent question: what options does GitLab provide to help secure my important data?
GitLab provides a number of options to act as safeguards, set access permissions, and enforce security best practices. (ex: 2FA, whitelists, strong passwords, MR approvals, push rules, rate limiting)
It can be difficult for users, customers, employees to see all the options available to them in one place.
Further details
We should be clear this is about the implementation of security within your software development cycle and not security OF your system and network infrastructure.
We can have a different / second FAQ about securing your instance similar to FAQ of Security related questions but with do these first recommendations.
