Merge request not merged after pipeline passed

Summary

This has happened a couple of times to us. A MR has been set to merge, has passed, and then just sits there. We are using gitlab CE and are using the old jenkins plugin (the only way to get jenkins working with CE) so jenkins posts is results to gitlab and generally runs a little bit asyncrhonously.

The merge request sits and is not merged despite everything being set to go

The merge request should be merged
