Unable to view diff for large file

For the purpose of reporting the issue I have created a sample project to show he actual message I see with my own project.

After creating a merge request for example from a branch to master, I am unable to view the diff because it displays the message: "This diff could not be displayed because it is too large."

In a standard development environment files can have 1000-2000 lines of strings

Is there a fix for this?
