Description

When the number of projects you own increases, looking up your project becomes a pain. There are two places where users look for to navigate projects:

  1. The upper left Project label (that shows Group / Project.
  2. The projects page

I think both can be improved for better navigatability. This proposal aims to improve the user's experience when navigating large number of groups & projects.

Proposal

Project label:

When we click on the inversed caret button, show the project within the same group by default. Add another button between the group and the slash
Group ^ / Gitlab Community Edition ^ The first inversed caret will let us choose the group.

Thus we have 2 possible dropdown windows:

  1. One for selecting the group; and if we select the group, we can find projects under the group
  2. One for selecting the project within the designated group.

We will also need to allow the user to select the group (via the first inversed caret), and go right onto finding the project within the group. (Perhaps in the groups dropdown menu, add an additional > button at the right end of the group name, to allow us to select the project within the group of interest)

Projects Page:

At the moment, the project page is by default sorted by 'last accessed'. Some users may prefer this, but some (like me) would like to see some hierarchical sorting. Thus Sort by last accessed group, then from within groups, sort again by last acccessed project.

I think this could be an Additional option in the Sort bymenu image Just like Hide archived Projects and Owned by anyone an additional Sort by Groups / Sort Individually?
