Make the `/cc` quick action a first class citizen
Description
At the moment, /cc
looks like a quick action, but it doesn't do anything. It has the side effect of subscribing the people mentioned to the issue, but that's the same for all mentions, and there's nothing special about the /cc
command itself.
However, there could be! We should make it so that /cc
does the following:
- Remove the
/cc
command from the note text, just like/assign
or/label
. - Create a system note with the default of who was CCed and by whom.
- Create a todo with a new type of 'cc' for the mentioned user(s).
- Send a notification to the mentioned user(s) to that effect.
- Ensure that the CCed user(s) are included as participants of the issue / MR from now on.
BONUS
Also introduce a /bcc
as a way of alerting someone of something without having that clutter the conversation :)
Original description
We very often use something like
/cc @someone @another_person
just to bring attention of these people to the issue. It works fine, everyone gets a email an notification and todo, but maybe there is some room for improvement?
I wonder if it would be a good idea to:
- make it possible to add
/cc
slash command that would create a ccbox with a beautiful design- make it possible to extend
/cc
with priorities- highlight mentions with higher priority in todos / add a priority badge there
