recipient with a similar mail adress cannot be invited

Summary
I cannot invite a member foobar@foo.com to the group, because bar@foo.com is already a member
Steps to reproduce
Try to send an invite to a mail address that is similar to another group member's mail address, e.g. bar@foo.com, whereas foobar@foo.com is already a member(see summary).
Edit: Prerequisite is that there is another mail address or user already in the list of recipients! It works if bar@foo.com is the the only recipient.
Expected behavior
I expect to only see "invite bar@foo.com" as foobar@foo.com is already a member. Alternatively, I would like to see at least "invite bar@foo.com" as well as the already existing account of foobar@foo.com, so that I have the option to inviting foobar@foo.com
Actual behavior
The only possible action is to 'reinvite' foobar@foo.com, and the possibility to 'invite bar@foo.com' is neglected.
