Overall performance and issue list very slow

As mentioned and provied via Twitter (@GitLabsupport), we have a very poor performance on our Gitlab Community edition.

Here are some details about our environment:

Server OS: CentOS CPU: AMD Opteron, 2 Cores RAM: 4GB HDD: 100GB

GitLab Version: 8.5.1 GitLab Shell: 2.6.10 Git: 2.5.1 Ruby: 2.1.5p273 Rails: 4.2.5.2 MySQL: 5.5.23

Ruby ist installed via rvm. The Webserver is an apache 2. On the machine there also runs a simple PHP application for testing, the mysql server and a jenkins, which is most of the time quiet as the jenkins is not yet actively used.

At the moment we have 19 projects in 9 groups with 15 users. Active users are daily 3-5 users.

Our main problem is the poor performance. Issue list, wiki sites and all other side appear to be very slow and it is frustrating to use Gitlab.

For example an issue list with about 50 issues took 1.42s to load. Even if we restart the machine and shut down all other services, the requests load in average by 1.5s.

Do you have any suggestions what we can do for a better performance?

Thanks, Martin
