slack notification for project forks

GitLab v8.9.4

We get slack notifications for all other events, except events related to any project fork. Seems like it is something that is innately built into gitlab. All other notifications are working fine. Shouldn't events from fork be pushed as well? Is there some setting I am missing on my side.
