Enable automatic issue closing for non default branches

Currently the automatic issue closing feature (see the issue_closing_pattern setting in gitlab.yml) only works when the commit is merged to the default branch. It would be nice if there was a way to specify the set of branches that would trigger automatic issue closing (e.g., develop).
