Gitlab AWS Authentication Solution

Hello,

I will like to know the alternative AWS Authentication service that can be used for Gitlab.

N.B - I am not considering AWS AD as it adds an overhead due to the fact a separate windows instance is needed to properly configure it.

AWS Cognito -- I could not find documentation on how this can be used for Gitlab, does anyone have an experience using this for Gitlab Auth?

Any other ideas?
