Switching to a new primary instance:

  • what are the steps? Based on Admin docs, is mostly manually performed.
  • Checks that promoted node works as a primary should for the remaining secondaries (e.g. user authentication, data replication)--> there are system check rake tasks, are there special DR/promotion considerations?
  • Load balancing after the switch: any special considerations?
