Test Plan

Introduction

Adding a new cross-project pipeline dashboard as well as a new triggered-by keyword to be able to hook into upstream pipeline activity.

Scope

Analysis in process for:

• multi-variable interactions for new dashboard
• general functionality of triggered-by

  • Pipeline will be triggered when upstream pipeline on master in different repo passes
  • Upstream pipeline is displayed in triggered pipeline graph
  • Triggered downstream pipeline is not displayed in upstream pipeline graph
  • Dashboard displays the correct status of pipeline
• CI is Intuitive
  • Dashboard displays various status combinations that are easy to understand
  • Dashboard does not become overwhelming in complicated pipeline scenarios

Test Plan

Due to the complexity of the Dashboard feature in setup and analysis of results as well as the numerous combinations of variables involved, this feature is better suited for an initial exploratory testing session. Follow up analysis will be done to determine what makes sense to automate.

Other basic functionality of components in this plan is being compared to other coverage. Likely, pipeline reliability in CE catch-up test plan will take precedence.
