No data resolving after setup

I try to get into this extension for a second time but face the same problems I had several months before.

When I follow the setup and set the extension to point to a self-hosted GitLab instance with a fresh generated personal token, the setup itself seem to work (because it doesn't complain).

But then I try to open any functionality of the plugin it just seems to endless load something.

The blue loading indicator. Just goes on and on and on....

It never resolves to show some data. What can I do to help debug this behavior?

I'm on macOS Mojave with the latest Visual Studio Code version.
