GitLab: Pipeline failed (build)

since auto devops was turned on by default and im not using it it caused a failure. this is showing my status bar and i dont know how to deal with it?:

i tried to 'cancel last pipeline' from the extension and i just get a 'failed to cancel' error. is this an issue with the extension or is there something i need to do on the gitlab side to resolve it? i do have pipelines turned off in settings on my repo after i noticed this.
