Authentication fails

Checklist

  • I'm using the latest version of the extension (see the latest version in the right column of this page)
    • Extension version: v3.59.2
  • I'm using the latest VS Code version (find the latest version here)
    • VS Code version: 1.47.3 on Ubuntu 22.04.1
  • I'm using a supported version of GitLab (see README for the supported version)
    • GitLab version: happens on gitlab.com on gitlab.com"_

Summary

When I try to sign in to the extension, I get an error and the authentication attempt fails: “Couldn't create item: The secret was transferred or encrypted in an invalid way.”

Authenticating an account via an access token doesn’t work either.

I tried reinstalling the extension but it didn’t work. On my work laptop, the extension works fine but I’m also using a probably slighly outdated VSCodium over there.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Install the extension
  2. In the sidebar, click on the GitLab Workflow tab
  3. Click on Connect to GitLab.com with OAuth
  4. Complete the OAuth flow
  5. Back in VS Code, see the error

What is the current bug behavior?

Authenticating fails with an error message.

What is the expected correct behavior?

I can sign in to the extension with GitLab (OAuth or access token) and use the extension. 😉
