gitlab_runner_cache_env: No such file or directory

Hello there,

Since upgrading to GitLab 18.4 (Ubuntu 24, on premise), our pipelines are failing with the following message:

bash: line 165: /root/builds/1iDLpGhkY/0/mvp/backend/builds/1iDLpGhkY/0/mvp/backend.tmp/gitlab_runner_cache_env: No such file or directory

And finally:

ERROR: Job failed: Process exited with status 1

After some searching, I came across a thread in the forum where others are also experiencing this problem:

Upgrading to 18.5 has not solved the problem so far.

Today I received an email saying that I should open a ticket if necessary, which I have now done.
