Consider upgrading k8s.io/client-go to 8.0

We have a customer reporting that the current kubernetes go client version is getting in the way of using --kubernetes-pod-annotations. Could we consider upgrading it to https://github.com/kubernetes/client-go/tree/release-8.0?
