Blockquote list numbering issue
Summary
When using several blockquotes in an issue, where the text inside the quotes looks like a numbered list, the actually rendered markdown changes the numbers in the quoted text.
Steps to reproduce
Given this issue text:
> This is a block quote
break
> 1. This is block quote number 1
>
> blah blah blah
break
> 2. This is block quote number 2
>
> blah blah blah
This markdown is rendered incorrectly as (note the second 1.
which should be 2.
):
| This is a block quote
break
| 1. This is block quote number 1
|
| blah blah blah
break
| 1. This is block quote number 2
|
| blah blah blah

What is the current bug behavior?
The blockquote-to-rendered-markdown processing takes the content of quotes into account, rendering them with incorrect output (as far as the list numbers is concerned).
What is the expected correct behavior?
I guess this depends on how you define the concept of a "quote". In general, quoted text should be shown as written, not interpreted/translated in any way. However, being able to use markdown within a quote can be useful, but is not always wanted. The example shown here is clearly wrong, as the quoted text should not be treated as list numbers that then get rendered incorrectly. In fact, it might be useful to have an option to completely disable interpretation of markdown within a blockquote.
The original situation in which I hit upon this bug was with quoting articles from a set of terms and conditions (i.e. a legal document). The incorrect rendering turned all the article numbers into 1.
