"Start a new merge request with these changes" does not open a new merge request
Either I don't understand how the Start a new merge request with these changes feature works, or it's broken.
Background: I'm evaluating GitLab for my company. My use case is a doc writer who is using the GitLab web based editor, and wants to make an edit to a plain text file (asciidoc). They want their change to be approved before it is merged into master.
Steps to reproduce
- Go to https://gitlab.com/leif81/test
- Click on the
- Click Edit
- Make a change to the text file
- Click Commit changes (using defaults. target branch: master, Start a new merge request with these changes: true)
What is the current bug behavior?
A merge request is not opened. The change is committed directly to master.
What is the expected correct behavior?
A merge request to be opened before it's merged into master.
