After importing bare repositories that create groups, can't edit or delete groups
Summary
I installed the Omnibus 8.15.2 package to replace an old from-source 8.0.x install, and after importing the bare repositories, the script created groups named after the old users/namespaces in the previous install while importing the repositories.
Now I can't create users with the same name as those groups, but more importantly if I try to view, edit or delete any of those groups in the Admin, I get a 500 error. I even deleted the projects, meaning those groups have 0 projects now, and I still get the error.
Steps to reproduce
- Installed Gitlab Omnibus 8.15.2
- Copied bare repositories over from previous install (with user/group subfolders intact)
- Ran
gitlab-rake gitlab:import:repos
which successfully imported all the bare repositories
Expected behavior
I'm not sure what I expected here, but at the very least I should be able to delete/rename the groups that the import process created? Or if you can explain how to manually delete these groups?
Actual behavior
Interacting with any of the groups that were created by the import script because there was no matching username triggers a 500 error. Groups that were created to match previous groups work fine.
