Confusing "Restored source branch `feature`" comment in MRs

When I open MRs, I quite often (not always) get "Restored source branch feature" comment. I don't do anything like that deliberately, I just create a plain MR.

We're running GitLab Community Edition 8.7.0 f2a3f70
