Import existing git repositories via ssh:// or git://

I am unable to import an existing repo from gitolite -> gitlab when creating a new project with this url schema:

ssh://git@host.com:repo_name.git

I receive error: "Import url should be a valid url"

I am using bitnami stack version of gitlab: 7.6.2
