Pipeline failures , gitlab-runner complains it cannot connect to nexus repo.

The server hosting gitlab-ci cannot access our repo " nexus.xxx.xxxx.net" The gitlab-cicd server stopped working which has caused all Pipeline builds to fail. A curl to the nexis repo shows:
