"Someone edited the issue at the same time you did" error erroneously displayed

After creating a new issue (#33902 (closed)) and then editing it to fix a typo, I saw a quick flash of the following error message:

I am certain that this is inaccurate, and the behavior is also strange because the error disappeared before I even had time to read it (I reproduced it by making another edit and quickly hit CMD+ctrl+3 to take a screen shot).

I presume this is some sort of timing issue between the changes being submitted and the inline edit form changing state back to displaying the issue description.
