Issue's edit time is updated by new notes
When a note is added to an issue, the issue's updated_at
property is set to the current time. As a consequence, it is no longer possible to determine if an issue has been edited since its creation.
This is a 7.13 regression.
Why do I think this is a regression?
The edited time (1) is no longer useful. It is always the same as the time of the last note (2). I would now always have to check an issue's text again for changes even if it hasn't changed because I could otherwise miss something. For the issue in the screenshot it could be possible that the author edited the issue in the last 10 months but it is impossible to tell now.
Even if this change is improved later on (e.g. by adding a separate property), issues with comments in the meantime would still be irrevocably affected.
Update: This also affects MRs but the edit time is not shown for them.
