Pushed branch doesn't appear in merge requests source/target branch selector

After yesterday's update, using the version hosted in gitlab.com, I tried pushing a new branch from my local git and make a merge request with it as the source branch but it isn't shown in the list. (As a side note, doing this also made the Branches button in the main project page show 2 instead of 3, which was the number of branches counting the new one)

This behavior wasn't happening before the update and I somehow bypassed it by deleting the gitlab branch and creating it again from the gitlab ui and then pushing to it
