Gitlab displays commit creation date, not the actual commit date (author date)
Summary: Gitlab only displays the date when files and commits were created (which is relative), but it rather should reflect the dates on the files (maybe a seperate field?) and more importantly, reflect the exact date a commit has (which you can manually set when creating the commit, called author date)
Steps to reproduce: Set a commit date via git and push it to gitlab
Expected behavior: Date of commits on website matches actual git data
Observed behavior: https://gitlab.com/neico/test-commit-date/commits/master (git commit date is inside commit message to follow along)
Output of checks: Tested on gitlab.com, so it should be clear what version it's on and which environment it's using...
Possible fixes: Sadly I don't have enough knowledge about ruby or gitlab's code to provide a possible solution as it might also be a bug of gitlab-shell as well...
