Group Level Kubernetes - kubectl unconfigured

Summary

While having an Kubernetes Cluster configured on Group Level, the Project itself can't deploy using the Auto Devops script. Any kubectl command will crash.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Add an kubernetes cluster to the Group
  2. Add the Auto devops script to the Project
  3. Configure an helm chart (custom in my case)
  4. Run a pipeline

Example Project

The project is not public.

What is the current bug behavior?

  1. KUBE_NAMESPACE variable is empty, I set it manually
  2. While running any kubectl command (for exmaple kubectl cluster-info) it crashes with The connection to the server localhost:8080 was refused - did you specify the right host or port?

What is the expected correct behavior?

While having an kubernetes cluster configured on the Group Level, it should directly work in the Project, as described by the UI.

Relevant logs and/or screenshots

$ kubectl cluster-info
Kubernetes master is running at http://localhost:8080

To further debug and diagnose cluster problems, use 'kubectl cluster-info dump'.
The connection to the server localhost:8080 was refused - did you specify the right host or port?
ERROR: Job failed: exit code 1
