Loss of Gitlab Events after upgrading from 9.1.4 to 10.6

Hi,

This issue is the same as 41883. However, since we are encountering it on a EE plateforme, I thought I would log a new one on the EE project.

To sum up the issue: we noted a loss of 4 months of Event history in all user's profile page, whether it is on the graphical summary stripe or in the Most Recent Activity history, following an upgrade from 9.1.4 to 10.6.

However, repositories activity history seems perfectly OK (commits, pipelines, tags, contributors, graphs, charts...)

Could you please indicate:

  • is there a way to recover the events history or is it definitely lost?
  • the exact root cause of this problem
  • a way to prevent ourselves from this issue to happen again
