Variation on issue board layout

A customer said a feature in GitLab similar to this from monday.com would be useful.

If we take those features on the left column as being equivalent to issues in GitLab, this could be a variation of the view of an issue board. Essentially instead of having board cards representing issues, the issues are in one column at the side, and you see status in the middle of the view.

Not sure if it's worth it to create a separate/different view of an issue board, or maybe take inspiration for this design and apply it to elsewhere, like maybe epics. One thing to note is that with this design, the information density seems lower, or at least less efficient use of space, since the middle parts of the view are occupying most of the space, and there's little info there (just status). For GitLab issue boards, each card has a lot of information.
