Purchased Shared CI Minutes Aren't Used by Subgroups
Summary
Our company is paying for the Silver plan on gitlab.com. Our top level (company group) has 10,000 shared CI minutes however, each subgroup has 2000 minutes to itself. This brings two problems:
- We can't effectively use the minutes we paid for (only a few bare projects in the company group with access to 10,000 minute pool)
- We have almost unlimited CI minutes since every subgroup gets 2000 minutes. Since every group can have some (high) number of subgroups. And there is 20(?) levels of nesting allowed. We can get hundreds of thousands (millions?) of free shared CI minutes if we structure our groups correctly.
What is the current bug behavior?
Paid CI minutes don't permeate to subgroups. Each subgroup has its own pool of minutes that aren't shared. Allowing effectively unlimited CI minutes.
What is the expected correct behavior?
Unclear. At the very least subgroups should have access to the paid tier of minutes. Maybe every subgroup has the paid tier? Or maybe some limit of subgroups with paid tier minutes? (i.e. the first 50 subgroups get the paid tier of minutes each)
