DR: Could not connect to Geo node - HTTP Status Code: 500

I finished setup DR and followed the updated instructions we'll ship in 9.1 (link).

After adding the secondary node, I get this error on the Geo node:

Could not connect to Geo node - HTTP Status Code: 500

I don't see how to fix this error.
