Change frequency of doc deployment pipeline from every 4 hours to every hour
In gitlab#370175 (closed), a request was raised to make it easier to publish doc changes faster, in case critical fixes are needed.
While any Maintainer of the gitlab-docs
project can manually kick off a deployment pipeline, we also thought that we could publish docs more frequently, for example, every hour. This should reduce the need to publish docs quickly, as they docs site will be refreshed every hour.
This should be a simple change, and easy to revert if it causes any issues (see gitlab#370175 (comment 1064415772)).
We might get more noise in the #docs-site-changes
Slack channel, as more frequent pipelines means more pings for failed pipelines.
Steps
-
Take ownership of the Build docs.gitlab.com every 4 hours
scheduled pipeline. -
Change the schedule so it runs every hour. -
Update documentation to reflect new schedule. -
Notify @gl-docsteam
of the change.
