Cannot (re-) install GDK due to a redis compilation error

Overview

I am unable to reinstall gdk from scratch due to a redis (?) compilation issue.

Background

I was on 2 months leave and tried to run gdk update, gdk reconfigure gdk pristine, which all failed due to the now installed Postgres version not aligning with the existing files that these commands need to back up.

Instead I removed my existing gdk repository and wanted to reinstall using the one-line installation.

This issue now fails on the /Library/Developer/CommandLineTools/usr/bin/make install command with a long output of C warnings and errors that seem to be connected to Redis.
