Product Design Leadership - Engagement Survey Next Steps

Thank you managers for reviewing the UX Department and your individual team's (when available) Engagement survey results. After review, you surfaced two main themes you'd like the Product Design leadership team to improve on this year.

  • Add clarity to the role and position of Staff Product Designers so it's clear to existing Staff Designers and others who are working on their career development plans with their managers.
  • Improve the effectiveness of OKR communications with managers and designers so everyone understands their role in helping successfully complete them.

Next steps:

  • Review existing Staff Product Designer responsibilities.

  • Learn how managers are communicating the Staff role in career development discussions - identify opportunities.

  • Update Staff Product Designer documentation (if necessary).

  • Add a 1:1 agenda item at the beginning of each quarter with managers to address any questions or concerns on OKRs.

  • Check in with designers in my skip-level 1:1s if they have any questions or concerns with OKRs throughout the quarter.

  • Continue to remind managers of OKRs throughout the quarter and request status updates.

What is success? The completion of the above checklist and a feedback request from Product Design Managers to determine if we're making improvements on the two themes.
