Search Usage Ping for Create SMAU

Problem to solve

We currently lack detailed information to determine what constitutes a Stage Monthly Active User (SMAU) for the Create stage. In order to better understand this data, usage ping data needs to be instrumented at the feature level.

Proposal

We need to add usage pings to Search for the following actions:

• Perform a search from the top nav bar (instance.com/search endpoint)
• Click on a tab for results in a specific section

What does success look like, and how can we measure that?

Additional usage ping data will be recorded specifically for actions as they relate to this feature.
