Docs feedback: Steps to use a private email

The instructions for making a commit email private say:

1. Open the user menu in the top-right corner of the navigation bar.
2. Hit Commit email selection box.
3. Select Use a private email option.
4. Hit Update profile settings.

Are those instructions old or am I misunderstanding them?
