Milestone tabs "will be removed in a future version"
The milestone page says "The tabs below will be removed in a future version" and I should come here if I'm missing something.
I'm going to be missing these tabs. I kind of got used to them. It gives you a nice little overview of the issues to be done in a specific milestone. If you use milestones as sprints, then you'll have a new milestone every one or two weeks. The issue boards seem to require complex configuration to adapt to a new milestone. The milestones page just has it all ready, zero configuration.
Also, with issue boards I can only get open and closed issues. The middle column, open and assigned, is not available. I could only pick labels, but I'm not going to add and remove labels whenever someone starts working on an issue. Other issue trackers have a status for that (new, ready, in work, testing, completed etc.), GitLab just omitted that feature, so I guess an assignment is meant to be the replacement.
And I don't want issues to be accidently closed by dragging them into another column. Issues are only meant to be closed by a merge commit into master. Only a few issues will be closed without code, like non-code tasks or cancelled tasks.
I understand that GitLab has a very limited issue tracker, nothing to be compared with half of JIRA or Bugzilla. Removing these milestones columns makes it even less usable. Maybe you could at least make it easy to show the milestone boards as issue boards with no configuration?
