Steps to reproduce
In a comment or a description (anywhere where gitlab markdown can be used) use the following syntax to create a clickable link to a windows share:

On preview or after saving the comment or the description you can see a correctly named link, but the link address is not
file:///servername/share/file.ext instead (with three instead of four slashes).

Further information (results of investigation)
Already tried different numbers of slashes, but in html there are **always **2 slashes unless the case with exactly 5 slashes given, then 3 slashes are in the html code.
There was already a bug 2 years ago, but the html code of the issue reveals the same problem: there are 3 slashes whereas the issue description proclaims that there should be five slashes in the html link.
