Active state for Todos can be mistaken for an error

I noticed my Todos button looked like this:

I mistakenly thought there was an error with the background, and @jschatz1 thought it was a caching issue.

I'm not sure what would help here, but perhaps an active color/shape that is more gradual with our current design with a faded gray?
