Change pure to tinted grays
Description
Using pure grays contributes to a monochromatic and interest-lacking UI. By overlaying pure grays with a shade of color, we can obtain a deeper and richer grayscale that reveals intent, polish, and attention to detail.
Take these examples:
| Original | Pure grays | |
|---|---|---|
| Asana | | |
| Basecamp | | |
During a short period of hallway testing, where the current version was compared to the proposal, subjects said the tinted grayscale UI felt more “professional”, “solid”, or “richer”.
Proposal
