Description
Many teams typically manage/create/edit issues from (agile) boards. Currently the ability to fully create and edit an issue from the boards is pretty cumbersome. (Boards are new so that's understandable)
Proposal
A User should be able to fully create and edit an issue from the board (including use of keyboard shortcuts)
Currently we can create an issue title only from each of the board lists - with the board list tag automatically assigned to it. To create an issue from the board with a description, user needs to:
Add issue from board list, click on issue title -> load issue page, click on edit -> load edit issue page. Fill in description,-> Save changes Click on issues in menu bar Click on board to return to board page
-Allow edit of issue title and description on issue detail page. A quick win to prevent progressing to 2 different pages, would be to add an edit button for issue title and one for description in the issue detail page as the edit issue page is almost redundant - nearly everything else can be edited from edit detail page. Or clicking on existing edit button allows edit of title and description on same page.
Add ability to add description from issue side menu.
This will mean issue descriptions can be added directly from board page.Add use of existing issue keyboard shortcuts on board page.
Shortcuts already exist for assignee etc... (allow these to be used on board page). Including (hit enter on selected issue on board page to go to issue detail page)Consider adding Board to top menu There are already quite a few things in the top menu bar (project , activity etc...) so another one for Boards may not be a good idea. Alternatively add option in project setting so that when issues are clicked on, default view is board, not issues page.
