Crystal Lang.
Gitlab uses lots of memory and cpu cycles. As the application grows it is probable this will grow with it.
I've recently been playing with a new language - https://crystal-lang.org/ which is heavily inspired by ruby, but compiles down via llvm to a very efficient binary. The current developers of this are restricted in their progress by their limited means, and small fundraising on bounty source
I believe if gitlab could help contribute to this language, either financially or with developer time, both gitlab and crystal users would benefit greatly from this. Being a very ruby like language, more intensive parts of gitlab could perhaps in time be ported.
Thoughts?
