Author filter almost useless

The author filter only contains the project members. But I think this contradicts with two common use cases:

1. I'm contributor (but not member) to a project and want to easily find my issues/MRs.

2. I'm a project maintainer/member and want to search for contributions of a specific user who is not a project member.

I think there is a simple solution for this:

1. Add "Me" as a fixed entry to the Author filter list which is always shown (at the top)

2. Allow to enter arbitrary user names and when enter is pressed just use that as the filter if nothing in the list is selected.

"Me" is always shown at the top (or at least near the top). For example:

to supporting arbitrary user names by keyboard, but that might require a bit more sophistication to do autocompletion without loading the entire user list from the backend.

Oh, the issue here is the the list of authors is restricted to the project members. If you're not in the list of authors, then your user won't be bumped to the top. Perhaps we should always include the current user in the autocomplete list.

Btw. for the "arbitrary user name" feature, don't bother with auto-complete here for the first implementation. It's like the "author:BLABLA" filter on github - you know what you are searching for. And just replace "not found" with "not in list: filter for X"

I'll reopen this issue to remind me to add support for querying unlisted names. I think select2's createSearchChoice will handle this nicely.

Thanks @tauriedavis! @victorwu: I know we have a lot of work lined up, but mentioning you to get awareness of this issue that has been open for a while. Main request is adding the ability to query all names, and not just members of the project when searching. Maybe this is something we can add as we continue to work on the new search filters?

I think this can be closed as it seems to be fixed by a manual filter with free "author@user" syntax.

I was missing this feature so much that I created a simple ruby script to fetch the MRs using multiple authors https://github.com/ftuyama/Gitlab-MRs-list
