Getting a launcher app on the marketplace require following through the following steps.

Technical steps

  1. Review open source compliance - confirmed by @DouweM
  2. Create two projects:
    1. Gitlab-dev (workspace)
      1. Create VM
      2. Install GitLab on VM and configure it as needed
      3. Fill open source compliance doc
      4. Send open source compliance doc to Google
      5. Receive license keys and script to execute them on images (how to execute the license keys and transfer the image to the public project)
      6. Reach out to Emily from the Google team to create the final image, will then do the testing from Google side
      7. Receive and execute commands to execute image on public project
    2. Gitlab-public - will host final image
      1. Once those are done, send over project details to Ravi to enable it as public project (takes 1-2 weeks)

1 month before going live sync with Fatima on go-to-market and marketing.

Business and go-to-market/marketing steps

  1. Apply to be a partner
  2. Sign NDA
  3. Sign code launcher agreement
  4. Fill in spreadsheet about marketing data
  5. Host two pages for the solution:
    1. Support page
    2. Getting started page with screenshots - step by step for integration on the launcher. Examples for this page: CloudBolt, Brocade
