Release 9.0 plan
Disruptive changes
- Upgrade to a newer PostgreSQL (Develop changes, 2 work days. Test changes probably a week).
- Major API changes
- Require Git 2.9 or newer
Other major changes
This issue is to plan the next major release of GitLab, 9.0.
The idea is to discuss when we can expect 9.0 to happen so we can start working on the outstanding issues since we try to deprecate code and do major changes in major releases.
Issue that is becoming more urgent and that we should start working on sooner rather than later is upgrade to newer version of Postgresql.
We also have the 9.0 milestone that is getting full.
